Many students will begin driving this year! Getting your license is such a coming of age accomplishment that should be celebrated! We want to help you celebrate by getting your student ready to hit the road.
A program has been developed called Y.E.S., for Youth Education and Safety. Y.E.S. has been recognized with awards from the National Commission against Drunk Driving and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Youthful drivers are more than twice as likely to be involved in motor vehicle crashes as any other driving group on the road. In fact, motor vehicle crashes are the number one cause of death for 14-24 year olds in America. However, youthful drivers who recognize what causes accidents and pledge to take control of their driving habits have a better chance of beating the odds.
As your Insurance Agent, I am committed to looking out for you and your family’s best interests. As a benefit to my clients with upcoming drivers, I strongly recommend you and your child participate in the Y.E.S. Program. This appointment will only take about 1 hour and is time well spent. When you take part in this exercise, you will be helping your new driver to understand the importance of having insurance, what your policy covers, and to become a safer driver.
At our office, we offer this very informative meeting for you and your new driver. Also, we can easily add them and their vehicle to your family’s policy. We offer discounts like Good Student Discounts among others. All of my kids have completed the Y.E.S. program and many of my clients have sent in their new drivers. When your student comes into our appointment, they will receive a packet with their current insurance policy, my phone number and information on what to do if they are in an accident.
It is so important for them to know that they can call me with any questions or if they have any incidents while driving. This is one of my favorite parts of working for a company with personal insurance agents. It brings me so much joy to celebrate with these students their new accomplishment and to also advise them of the responsibility and insurance factors.
Happy Driving!
